Peanut Chutney

Here goes a recipe for a chutney, which I make regularly for my husband,for whom chutney is mandatory as a side for dosas and idlis...
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Great side dish for idli and dosas.


  • 1/2 Cup  peanuts.
  • 2 Spoons channa dal
  • 1 Spoon Jeera seeds
  • 1/2 Spoon mustard seeds
  • 1 Spoon tamarind pulp
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Curry leaves
  • 2-3 red chillies
  • Salt to taste.
How to make:

  • Heat a little oil in a pan, and roast the peanuts, jeera seeds, red chillies & channa dal in it, for around 2 minutes. After cooling, grind them into a fine paste,along with tamarind pulp.
  • Now splutter some mustard seeds in a little oil , add curry leaves.
  • Add the ground peanut mixture to it, and saute for a while after adding salt to taste.
  • Peanut chutney is ready!
